Photography has always been the way I make sense of the world. I am drawn to moments that feel honest, even if they are a little messy or uncomfortable. I took this photo during the No Kings protest in Los Angels and I’m excited for it to be seen because there’s a bigger story behind just one image and I think it’s fun for everyone to find that story.  

I like photographing people who are showing real emotion because it reminds me why I picked up my camera in the first place. I love the challenge of capturing something real in the moment. I am still learning and growing, but every picture pushes me a little closer to the photographer I want to be, so winning this contest means a lot to me!!
