My name is Rosie, and I am an Early Childhood Education major at SBCC, originally from an island in Maine. Child advocacy has always been very important to me, and I hope to incorporate it into my career. Seeing the ever-rising numbers of children and young people advocating for others, themselves, and the planet is so encouraging.
Child advocacy can be about not only speaking for children when they need someone to, but also supporting their voices when they have something to say. I hope that I was able to contribute to that when I took this photo of an eleven-year-old raising her voice and asking for recognition of climate change. I am in constant awe of the intelligence and energy of children, and I agree — it’s time to act!
