Before editing photos in Lightroom or Photoshop it’s important to set up your monitor so that you’re seeing the correct colors.
Once or twice a year each computer monitor in the Photography Classroom and Lab area is “Profiled;” meaning that a color measuring device is used to measure the range of colors each individual iMac monitor is capable of producing. Since colors vary slightly for each monitor, even though they are the same brand and model, it is necessary to run the process on each iMac in the Photo department. The end result is an “icc profile” that describes that particular monitor that Photoshop and Lightroom use to display the most accurate colors possible.
